These pots were first made as a base shape before having pieces of shattered ceramic applied on the surface, almost creating a mosaic that mimicks the shattering. They are feminist works presented with the audio ‘Breaking Point’ looped to give this context. I was attempting to create a fragile or beaten down object that still stands strong despite the stacked odds, looking as though it is at breaking point. It can also be interpreted as a piece on how women mask their problems.

Spoken by the women who shattered ceramics to be used in my later pieces, this audio featured descriptions of things that women them angry. The words are compiled from longer conversations and stitched together with the sounds of the ceramics shattering.
